In Mrs. Osberg’s “Investment 101” class, students are learning how to invest and apply methods into practice with an investing game.

Guest speakers play vital roles within a classroom by providing students with real life application to the material they are being taught. “Investment 101” started this year with the addition of a portfolio and investing game where students can simulate what it is like to actually invest in stocks and learn how to apply their knowledge in an exciting and engaging way.

Mrs. Osberg also invited Mr. Dan Trevena, a financial advisor with nearly 25 years of experience at Ameriprise Financial, to help teach students about personal finance and investing principles.

“His willingness to share his expertise is invaluable,” Mrs. Osberg shared, “and it really drives home the importance of investing early and consistently.”

With the foundational knowledge of investing being instilled in students at Maranatha, we are confident that the next generation of investors will be well-equipped to handle the markets and make sound financial decisions.
